TOP TIPS FOR FLYING WITH A TODDLER
Flying with a toddler is never an easy endeavor especially when you’re traveling solo with your little one. As a self-proclaimed travel expert I have a few tips and tricks to share with you on making sure your flight is as smooth as possible with your toddler.
If you’d like to watch my full video on it you can do that here.
What you’ll need when flying with a toddler.
1. A Tablet Or Phone
Now this is just what works great for me and my child. My son loves watching shows and movies so bringing along his Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet is a must! These are fairly inexpensive and we get a LOT of use out of ours on road trips, in the grocery store and at restaurants. Get a Samsung tablet by clicking the photo below.
We also have a Leap Frog Epic just in case you would rather your little one play learning games versus watching cartoons. I’m not an anti or pro screen time advocate. I’m an advocate for you mamma to have a stress free flight. Check out the Leap Frog Epic by clicking the photo below.
2. Extra Battery Charger
These little battery chargers are LIFE SAVERS especially when you’re flying or traveling with toddlers. They are very inexpensive and easy to keep in your purse of diaper bag. You don’t want to get caught with either your childs device or your own phone dying on you during a 4 hour flight. Check out my pick for battery chargers by clicking the photo below.
3. No Spill Sippy Cups – Munchkin Miracle 360 Cup
Now I just recommend these to any toddler mom PERIOD! These are the BEST! I have a lot of white and cream fabrics in my house and thanks to these little miracles, my whites are still white! I love how these cups teach your toddler how to drink from a cup without taking the chances of their juice spilling all over.
These are great to take with you on the plane so you won’t have to worry about making a big mess. I take the empty cup with me and fill it up with milk, water or juice after we get through security.

4. Toys For The Flight
I definitely recommend either bringing small toys you know your toddler loves from home or purchasing one or two “special” toys for the plane ride. My son is all about his Hot Wheels cars so I make sure to bring some of his favorites with me.
A little doodler toy is also a great idea for flying with toddlers. I found this one on amazon and it’s made for traveling with toddlers. Check it out by clicking the photo below.
Now I’m sure you remember these from when you were a kid. These miniature MagnaDoodles are so perfect for keeping your toddler distracted when traveling. You can check this one out by clicking the photo below.
5. DoTerra Serenity Oil
Disclaimer–I’m actually not a DoTerra rep or anything but I LOVE this stuff! We use it at home sometimes when our son is restless before a nap or bedtime.
I just put a drop on the bottom of his feet or behind his ears. Maybe its just coincidence or maybe this stuff actually works but my son will sleep for much longer than usual whenever I do this.
So if your toddler starts getting cranky on the flight you can put a little of this on his toes and behind his ears…. then apply it to yourself too mamma ;). In no time your toddler will be calmed down and maybe even napping. You’re welcome ;). You can find the DoTerra Serenity from either your DoTerra consultant or get it using the link below.
6. Brica Roll n’ Go Carseat Transporter
Last but certainly not least is the Brica Roll n’ Go Carseat Transporter. This thing is a God send!
I don’t know about your toddler, but mine sleeps like a…. well like a baby when he’s cozy in his car seat. But logistically trying to haul a carseat, carry-on bag, toddler AND a stroller through an airport is just madness. I even workout and that sounds awful to me.
In comes the Brica Roll n’ Go Carseat Transporter. I seriously LOVE this thing! It makes airport travel that much easier not only for me but for my son as well. Usually when we fly he will sleep at least 2 hrs of the flight since he’s comfy in his carseat and thanks to this little device I don’t have to try and juggle so much when I go through security or change planes. Win!!
7. Now Take A Deep Breath Mamma!
I know that traveling with a toddler or flying with a toddler can be scary and feel daunting BUT I know you can do it! Just make sure you’re prepared and use some of my tips above.
