This week I worked on creating a bright minimalist workspace with my usual boho style interior flare. Check out my awesome target lamp find! Gah I love target clearance!
It’s a lazy soulful Sunday around here today. I hit up the grocery store this morning and picked up some of my favorite greens. I’ve been really digging on my brussel sprouts and green beans lately. I usually just sauté them in a little bit of coconut oil. Then add a sprinkle of chili powder and salt. #ILoveAllThingsSpicy And of course I bought cilantro because we pretty much eat it on just about everything! Especially on tacos! I’m a HUGE taco fan!
Also found the CUTEST cutest cutest bohemian outfit for little girls. This right here makes me want to have another baby…. as long as it’s a girl. No just kidding. I would be totally happy with another boy and to be honest we would probably save a fortune in clothing if he have another boy for obvious reasons. I mean seriously if I had a little girl I would have bought this outfit no questions asked.
Since I work from home and interior decorating is my passion, I LOVE to find cute new items for my desk/office space. After searching and searching for the perfect mouse pad I finally decided to just create my own using shutterfly.com. I almost always use Shutterfly for all of my photo printing and any custom photo gifts or cards. I love that they are always having great sales and they send out several coupons for free items. I only had to pay shipping for my mousepad! #winning.
I wanted one of the cool Kilim rug looking mousepads you can find on eBay and Amazon but I just didn’t want to pay $15 for a mousepad. I know I’m cheap like that. So started searching google images for a “kilim rug” pattern that I liked. I came across this image and totally fell in love! Combine my google image with the Shutterfly coupon and VOILA! A free and might I say bad ass mouspad!
Now for my big find today!! I needed a new lamp for my bright minimalist workspace. I’ve been eyeing this lamp at Target for about 4 months now. However, there was no way I was going to pay $60.00 for a desk lamp. Today I was stoked to see it went from $32.00 down to $19.78!! I was shocked! I had to pull the trigger on it!
My glass desktop I found on Craigslist last year when we were living in Alabama. I think I only paid $40 for this giant pane of beveled glass. Such a great find! Then I ordered some of the LERBERG Trestle table legs from Ikea. Then I used some Krylon Stone Finish spray paint in Cobblestone Finish. This finish is AWESOME for DIY projects with an industrial style.
We did a yard sale a few weeks ago with some friends and one of them was going to sell this cute little white & gold faux marble finish clip board. She kindly let me keep it. I’m currently on the lookout for another vintage clip board to hang on the other side of my monitor. Ebay has some great ones if you search for vintage clip board. I’m thinking a monthly calendar on one side and a weekly calendar on the other.
I’m considering using a grey stain on the legs of the lamp however since I’m more of a distressed, grey toned, Restoration Hardware type of wood finish. It appears that there is a bit of a protective coating over the wood legs so I will have to sand them down before I stain. If I end up doing this project I will definitely show you guys the finished product!
It’s been a super productive week with painting the kitchen, finishing painting Sebastian’s room and adding my new desk lamp to create a gorgeous bright minimalist workspace (with some boho accents)! Everything is coming along gorgeously in our little apartment. I simply adore this space and feel so blessed to be able to call it home.
